Hong Kong hub

by Mark Rowe

Datacard Group, the ID and card product company, announced the opening of its new Logistics Hub and Distribution Centre in Hong Kong.

The firm says that it will better serve Datacard Group’s customers and partners in the region, as well as reduce the order-to-delivery times for desktop card printers, warranty spare and replacement parts, and supplies from five to ten days to one to three days depending on location. The firm adds that it will be able to confirm orders and respond to shipment status inquiries within local working hours, without having to bridge the gap between time zones.

“Asia Pacific continues to be one of our most valued markets with tremendous growth opportunity for us, which is why we are focusing on strengthening our presence and providing more localized services in-region,” said Angus McDougall, regional vice president, Datacard Asia Pacific Ltd. “It’s very important that we give our customers and partners faster service. With shorter delivery times and lowered transportation costs, customers may be able to reduce their safety stock levels and place smaller orders more frequently.”

The new Hong Kong logistics hub will serve those located in China, Hong Kong, Korea and the ASEAN region. It is located at Crane Worldwide c/o Datacard Corporation, Unit 2, 3/F, Yuen Fat Godown, No. 1 Fat Tseung Street, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
