Dome launch

by Mark Rowe

Vista has launched the VP-960h dome series. This latest generation of the PowerDome provides HD quality resolution and has been the makers say redesigned to provide a consistent look and menu interface across Vista domes.

Integrated Sony 960H technology provides up to 25 per cent image quality improvement, it is claimed, when used with Vista’s 960H range of digital recorders (DVRs). The camera also works with non-960H DVRs as support for whatever analogue system may already be installed. Camera lens options have been upgraded to include a 22:1 and 36:1 zoom while the new 36x lens provides an improvement to the camera’s field of view when compared to previous models. The latest generation includes Back Box Memory, meaning that should the dome head require replacing, the camera settings will be retained.

All models comes with eight alarm inputs and four alarm outputs at the dome head, and with 240 presets, eight preset tours; and 360 degree continual rotation and variable speed control between 0.10/sec and 3800/sec allows tracking of moving objects.

The VP-960h dome is the company says for retail, office and educational environments that are looking for a confident and adaptable camera that’s complemented with good range of mounting options.

Bob Forehand, Vista Product Manager, says: “Redesigning one of our best selling external PTZ cameras required careful consideration. We wanted to improve the simplicity of the design, plus add additional features – all whilst retaining what customers like best about the PowerDome. We believe this has been achieved with the VP-960h.”
