HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the global standard for connecting high-definition equipment, such as HDTVs, personal computers, cameras, camcorders, tablets, gaming consoles, smart phones, and any device with an HD signal.
With the development of consumer electronic devices, seven leading manufacturers, Hitachi, Panasonic Corporation, Philips, Sony, Technicolor, Toshiba, and Silicon Image, in 2002 established the consortium of HDMI to jointly define a digital interface specification for consumer electronics products.
HDMI is capable of delivering digital audio and video signal via a single cable. More than 1,200 of the world’s largest and leading consumer electronics manufacturers have adopted HDMI connectivity.
