Thermal imaging cameras

Acal BFi’s new CCTi range of thermal imaging cameras outperforms visible CCTV cameras in dark and challenging sites, the makers say. Providing 24/7 surveillance with a long detection range (early warning) and it’s claimed a very low rate of false alarms, the CCTi range offers a solution for detecting intruders.

The CCTi range offers feature rich functionality at a competitive price, providing a low total cost of ownership when compared to CCTV cameras since no additional lighting and fewer cameras are required, according to the firm.

Tested at the company’s Imaging Competence Centre in Germany, the CCTi range features plug and play, and it integrates with automatic video analytics. The family of cameras offers models and configurations including fixed, pan and tilt and dual thermal and visible. The range comes with multiple optional lenses to meet different fields of view and distances.

The company’s new CCTi thermal cameras work in adverse weather, smoke or fog and their imagery is not altered by bright light sources or active illuminators, according to the manufacturers. The CCTi range is said to be suitable for security and fire detection in applications including critical infrastructure, prisons, power plants, solar farms, water treatment plants, car parks, tunnels, day and night mobile surveillance towers, marine, and perimeters.
