4K autofocus camera block

by Mark Rowe

Sony Europe’s Image Sensing Solutions division at IFSEC 2015 demonstrated a new 4K autofocus camera block, the FCB-ER8300.

Powered by an Exmor R CMOS sensor, and capable of 20x zoom with true 4K resolution, the FCB-ER8300 uses the 4K technology that Sony has developed.

Also featuring on the Sony ISS stand was the latest in the FCB-EV series. Supporting Full HD resolution at 60 frames per second (fps) the FCB-EV7320 (20x zoom) and FCB-EV7520 (30x zoom) offer low light sensitivity thanks to Sony’s Exmor R CMOS and dedicated image signal processor. The Sony stand featured live demonstrations.

Matt Swinney of Sony said: “The FCB-ER8300 marks a new era of 4k technology for industrial cameras. Sony delivers this technology within a complete camera block, which ensures superb image quality whilst being specifically designed for integration into finished security solutions. We are looking forward once again to redefining vision technology and to meeting our customers at this year’s show.”
