Access Control

Mobile app for hotels

by Mark Rowe

MediaConcepts, a provider of integrated digital products for the hospitality sector, has integrated its mobile application, Priscilla, with SALTO Systems’ access control system.

As an application that offers hotel guests a more intuitive way to access information and services during their stay, Priscilla’s latest integration lets guests use their smartphone to gain access to their rooms fitted with SALTO’s Bluetooth Low Energy enabled electronic escutcheons.

John Bowen, Founder and CEO of MediaConcepts, said: “In a world where people expect to do everything on their mobile devices, hoteliers have a great opportunity to optimise their guest experience through a single app. Nobody likes to download multiple apps when they only need one, which is why this collaboration is so important in our vision to continually enrich the guest experience.”

Priscilla allows guests to manage their stay through their own mobile devices – from check-in, to opening doors, controlling room lights, ordering room service, requesting concierge or housekeeping services, finding their way around, and receiving promotions, all the way through to check-out.

SALTO Systems Vice President Hospitality Access Solutions, Rob Zijl says: “Guest demand for the use of smartphones and apps as part of their hotel experience is increasing so more major hotel chains as well as individual boutique properties are looking to embrace this smart technology. The integration of our two technologies combines the benefits of SALTO’s Bluetooth Low Energy platform with MediaConcepts’ Priscilla app. This delivers a richer, more personalised hospitality experience for the guest and more business opportunities for hotels.” Visit www.saltosystems.com.
