Access Control

Keys as a service

by Mark Rowe

Stop replacing locks and take control over who can go where and when. Send keys directly to smart phone users and open doors remotely while gathering an audit trail as you go.

How? ask the access control product company SALTO. Their new SALTO KS – keys as a service – is a cloud based access control product with that requires no software installation or added expense of a fully wired electronic product. And with SALTO KS “Code” SALTO KS’ one-time password, users can open doors remotely without a key. All that is needed is an online device with an internet connection.

There is no need to replace a lock if a key is lost or stolen. You block the users SALTO KS tag and assign a new one. In case someone has lost or did not return one of your KS tags you block them via the SALTO KS App. Blocking is real-time and if you retrieve the tag you just unblock it.

SALTO says this product lets you determine who enters what, when and where. And if you want to change that, log-in from any device, and make your changes. No updating of the SALTO KS tag or SALTO KS access point required.
