Double climb

by Mark Rowe

Staff from Incentive FM, the facilities management company, have laced up their walking boots for a 24-hour double climb. A group of 11 will take part in a Twin Peak Challenge on Wednesday, May 8, to raise funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. This follows last year’s endeavours where the team took on Snowdon and raised over £5k for that chosen charity.

The 11 will set off at 3pm from the bottom of Scafell Pike in Cumbria, aiming to climb the 3210ft mountain in about six hours. Once there and back again, they will make the 260-mile drive to Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK at 4412ft, which they intend to climb in around seven hours.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity seeking to support children and young people who have lost a parent while serving in the British Armed Forces.

Bruce McDonnell, Managing Director at Incentive FM, said: “We are excited with slight anticipation take part in this exciting yet slightly daunting, challenge. We have been training hard and we hope to raise as much money as possible for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, an amazing charity which makes a real positive difference to so many people. We hope you can support us by making a donation.”
