Thermal camera

by Mark Rowe

Avigilon previewed its high-resolution H4 Thermal camera at IFSEC 2019 in June. The new H4 Thermal camera models will combine patented technology with heat-sensing, for use in perimeter security in areas with poor visibility, difficult lighting and in darkness, the Canadian firm says. The high-resolution thermal camera will enable users to see more at longer distances, the makers add.

Sergio Parise, senior vice president, Product Development at Avigilon said: “We are introducing the high-resolution H4 Thermal camera to bring our customers longer-range detection in locations where environmental factors and lighting conditions are challenging. With the ability to recognise threats with greater accuracy at longer distances under these conditions, this camera will provide an excellent video security solution for sites requiring perimeter protection.”

The H4 Thermal camera is expected to launch globally in the third quarter of 2019.
