American card scheme

by msecadm4921

The US access product company HID Global has been selected to supply the US Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC)  with more FARGO HDP5000-LC ID Card Printer/Encoders. Those products include customised additions for large government projects.  The main use of the printer/encoder will be to support the DoD’s Common Access Card (CAC) programme, one of the largest ID printing schemes in North America. More than three million technology cards are produced annually.

The US Department of Defense has used HID’s High Definition Printing (HDP)  technology for more than 10 years. It adopted the FARGO HDP5000-LC printers in 2007, and selected the printers for follow-on purchases in 2012 to complete the update of the remaining DMDC mobile and shipboard CAC personalisation systems. The HDP5000-LC is being sold and supported by system integrator Telos Corporation  of Ashburn, Virginia.
