Guard motivation guide

The Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) has updated its ‘Motivation Within the Security Industry’ guidance. Visit http://www.cpni.gov.uk/highlights/guard-force-edition3-launched/

Version three of the guide is CPNI says intended to help security managers, security duty managers, team leaders and those responsible for managing security personnel develop and maintain workforce motivation, to improve security effectiveness and efficiency.

As a result of feedback CPNI have updated the section on interventions and how this relates to organisational change. Also new, a section on data analysis, on how to measure the impact of motivation and the various interventions used, and why motivation might be important to an organisation.

Two videos have been produced to assist with rolling out the tool to industry: one on the importance and benefits of using the guidance and one providing a step-by-step instruction on how to undertake the data analysis. There are links to the videos within the document, and you can also view them on YouTube.
