Caught on Camera webpage

In Ripley in Derbyshire police officers from the town’s Safer Neighbourhood team will be carrying out high visibility and plain clothes patrols in the town in a bid to deter thieves and catch shoplifters in the act.

Alongside policing patrols, posters will be displayed in stores to highlight the initiative and to promote the Derbyshire force’s ‘Caught on Camera’ webpage.

‘Caught on Camera’ is a dedicated page on the force website where CCTV images are displayed. Members of the public are then asked for their help in identifying people in connection with enquiries of alleged offences. Images may be of both potential suspects and witnesses.

PC Rich Marshall from the Ripley Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Together with local shopkeepers we are working hard to prevent and detect offences of shoplifting in our town. We will be asking members of the public to help us to identify people that we would like to speak to in connection with thefts by sharing CCTV images on the Caught on Camera section of the force website.

“By working together we can catch those responsible for shoplifting in our town and bring them to justice for the crimes they have committed.”
