Event Organiser:Fraud Advisory Panel

The Fraud Advisory Panel is creating the Future Counter Fraud Community (FCFC). The Panel, a charity, says the Community will focus on education and collaboration within the sector, to drive generational change and help businesses fortify their defences against fraud.

By engaging with people who are considering a career in counter-fraud and enhancing their awareness of fraud prevention, it will enable them to move ahead, personally and professionally, with a better understanding of what fraud prevention is, and how to mitigate the threats posed.

To promote the FCFC, the Panel has organised webinars, career development events and mentorship programmes.

A free inaugural event from 6.30pm to 9pm is hosted and sponsored by ICAEW, the chartered accountancy body, on Tuesday April 23, at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, with a speech by Alan Vallance, ICAEW Chief Executive.

The aim; fostering a community of skilled and informed professionals dedicated to combatting fraud. It is open to fraud prevention professionals, enthusiasts, students, apprentices, and anyone joining or who is new to fraud prevention.

Laura Hough, ICAEW Director for Trust and Ethics, said: “Inspiring individuals to take up a career in Counter Fraud is critical for ensuring that business, government and not-for-profits are aware of the risks that fraud presents and are best prepared to protect themselves from fraud. The Future Counter Fraud Community provides an excellent opportunity to build connections between experienced professionals and those looking to enter the profession. Together with our new Chief Executive, we are looking forward to hosting this inaugural event to launch the Fraud Advisory Panel’s Community.”

The event will include a panel discussion including Mike Haley, CEO of the counter-fraud trade association CIFAS and Josie Wellend, Chair, Female Fraud Forum; and networking.
