Job Title: Fire Alarm Service Engineer
Location: Surrey and Sussex
Rate: £215 – £225 p/day
We are actively seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Engineer to perform routine service, maintenance, and fault-finding on fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting across Surrey and Sussex. This essential role involves ensuring the operational integrity and safety compliance of systems within care homes and commercial premises.
Description of contract/programme of works:
- Conduct scheduled checks and maintenance on fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, and electronic security across specified sites.
- Complete 3-hour emergency light testing as part of the routine service protocol to ensure compliance and functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve issues within fire alarm systems, employing a thorough understanding of different panels and security systems.
Experience required:
- Proficiency in servicing and maintaining fire safety and emergency lighting systems, with a focus on care homes and commercial premises.
- Familiarity with a broad range of fire alarm panels and the technical acumen to perform fault finding efficiently.
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
- A valid DBS check is essential due to the sensitive nature of the work environments.
- While specific product skills are not listed, relevant industry certifications (e.g., ECS Fire Installer, ECS Electrician, IPAF, 17th Edition, NVQ Level, Lenel, City & Guilds) are preferred.
- Contractors must supply their own hand tools, power tools, fire test equipment, and steps, along with full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
