Role: Fire and Security Engineer
Location: Coventry South
Salary: Up to £35,000 + Company Car

Technical Resources is seeking a Fire and Security Engineer in Coventry South. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and functionality of our clients’ security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems, as well as fire alarm systems, preferably GENT based. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks from attending maintenance calls, both on-site and remotely, to commissioning small projects and providing crucial training to both customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to maintenance calls as directed by the team coordinator, aiming for first-visit resolution whenever possible.
  • Execute a continuous programme of preventative maintenance, ensuring systems are operating efficiently and securely.
  • Collect and record site configuration information to maintain up-to-date system documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotating basis, offering out-of-hours coverage to meet our commitment to 24/7 service availability.
  • Commission small projects, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and functionality.
  • Conduct audits of quality procedures to uphold and exceed industry standards.
  • Deliver training on system functionalities, maintenance, and best practices to both customers and colleagues.

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Proven experience in installing, servicing, and maintaining a broad range of security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intruder alarms. Experience with fire alarm systems, especially GENT, is highly desirable.
  • An IT, Electrical, or Electronic qualification, underscoring a strong foundation in technical skills relevant to the role.
  • Broad technical IT knowledge, including proficiency in installing various Windows Operating Systems and understanding networking principles.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical principles, such as measuring voltage and current drain.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and participate in a 24/7 call rota, reflecting a commitment to providing exceptional service any time it’s needed.
