Bar Fine

by msecadm4921

The supervisor of a Burton, Staffordshire bar has been fined £995 for licensing breaches.

Anthony Joseph King (64) formerly the designated premises supervisor of the Geco Lounge, Station Street Burton, pleaded guilty to nine breaches of the Licensing Act 2003 at Burton Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

They were found by police in April this year.

The breaches included failures in connection with the venue’s (CCTV) closed circuit television system, door supervisors, incident register as well as not having sound limiting equipment.

The venue, which operated as a lounge bar, is now closed.

Inspector Ashley Farrington, head of the Force Licensing Unit, said after the hearing: "The fine clearly sends out a message that breaching license conditions will be taken very seriously.

They are issued to protect the public.

Staffordshire Police have increased intrusive checks on licensed premises and will continue to keep a close eye on how venues are run. We are doing this to keep communities safe and reassured."
