Varifocal lenses from US manufacturer Rainbow CCTV are being used in dome camera units at Boots stores throughout the UK.
The sites include the company’s flagship store in Oxford Street, London.
The 3-8mm direct drive Rainbow lenses are operating from Mark Mercer QuickSwitch fixed domes and are used internally. The client is recording digitally at its large stores and there is ongoing migration to digital recorders from analogue equipment. Monitoring is performed on site but the digital equipment has the potential for remote surveillance.
The next Boots store to take the units will be a large branch in the Canada Place shopping mall at Canary Wharf. The installations are being performed by Certainty Security who specialise in the supply, design, installation and maintenance of electronic security systems.
