Event security contractors Showsec ensured the 5,000 VIP guests at the Brit Awards with Mastercard 2008 all got to their seats in time to enjoy their food and the ceremony hosted at Londonโs Earls Court.
Sir Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, Amy Winehouse and the Kaiser Chiefs were among the winners and performers at the UK music industryโs premiere event, hosted by the Osbournes. The event filled Earls Court halls 1 and 2, with an 80m wide set and 5,000m2 terraced restaurant mezzanine transforming the layout of the venue.
With a VVIP audience including the heads of record companies, promoters and stars, Showsec ensured that all guestsโ accreditation were checked quickly and efficiently, and then guided them to the appropriate area.
In the months leading up to the February awards Showsecโs London Area Manager Steve Reynolds consulted with The Brit Awards production team (headed by MJK director Mick Kluczynski) and the Earls Court management to ensure all bases were covered in the west London complex, to get guests in and out of the show and the aftershow party.
