Home Office Minister Vernon Coaker has praised the British Security Industry Association and its members for their campaign against cash-in-transit attacks.
In an adjournment debate on the subject, the Nottingham MP and minister said: "I pay tribute to the British Security Industry Association and its chief executive, David Dickinson, for the excellent work that it and its members are doing to raise the profile of the problem of cash-in-transit attacks, and for the initiatives they are developing."
David Dickinson, BSIA Chief Executive, says: "The industry is working hard with its partners in the police, the government and the GMB trade union to put together initiatives which will bring a reduction in attacks on cash-in-transit couriers. It is encouraging that the Minister has recognised the vital role that the industry is playing in this area. I am sure that he will continue to work with us to bring about a reduction in these crimes, which lead to couriers being injured and traumatised."
