Consultancy Section

by msecadm4921

The British Security Industry Association has launched a new section, for security consultancies.

The Worcester-based BSIA reports that the new section takes in the security consultancy companies that BSIA previously had in associate membership; and is hoping to attract companies from across the security consultancy sector. Ian Johnson, Managing Director of Ian Johnson Associates Ltd has been elected as chairman of the section, and Owen Griffin of Surelock Asset Management Ltd as vice-chairman.

What they say

Ian Johnson says: "I am delighted that the BSIA has acknowledged the valuable contribution of professional security consultancies to the industry by establishing its security consultancies section. It is an ideal time for this as many consultancies are looking for representation from a trade association in the run up to the licensing of the sector next year. The private security industry is experiencing many changes driven by the terrorist threat, corporate governance, health and safety requirements and the impact of regulation by the Security Industry Authority. Security consultancies have an essential part to play in the way in which the industry moves forward, and the BSIA will provide an excellent forum for consultancies to work together during these changing times."

How and who

For more information about joining, ring 01905 21464. The following companies have been accepted as members of the security consultancies section: ArmorGroup Services Ltd, Ian Johnson Associates Ltd, Ramesses Group Ltd, Redvers Hocken Associates, Surelock Asset Management Ltd, TPS Consult Ltd, and VIDEF Security Consulting.
