SG Systems UK Limited (Shopguard), the UK provider of anti-theft products and customer activity data marketing, are taking part in the 2011 EuroShop, a retail trade fair from February – 26 to March 2 in Düsseldorf.
It is a show for retail investment, research and development, plus an international ancillary congress and practical seminars.
The Global Retail Theft Barometer reports that retailers lost £4.4 billion to theft in the UK alone between July 2009 and June 2010. As a result SG Systems advise that businesses really need to continue to be on their guard against shoplifting in 2011. SG Systems’ team will be at booth 6A19 to offer visitors with advice in finding the best solutions to reduce shrinkage and cope with the after-effects of the recession.
Shopguard meanwhile has launched the new Bottle Cap, a security tag, designed to protect bottled beverages, spirits and other products.
This can be fitted with a simple twist and removed via conventional code lock detacher. The tag will fit most wines and spirit bottles available on the market, providing according to the firm a cost effective anti-theft solution to retailers in the grocery, supermarket and convenience store sectors, among others.
This tag also helps to prevent illegal opening of products in store, a growing problem, the firm adds. It’s compatible with all RF and AM EAS (Electronic article Surveillance) products, and can be custom-coloured.
Marketing Manager for SG Systems, Patricia Oles, said: “We believe that the new Bottle Cap is one of the safest and most economical bottle tags on the market, which can help to protect bottled products in a self-service environment whilst preventing illegal opening of the same.”
