Electric Locking

by msecadm4921

The ASSA Elva electric locking system from ASSA ABLOY is the first of its kind, the makers claim, developed specifically for residential properties.

The ASSA Elva is a traditional lock configuration with exterior and interior mechanisms that can be isolated, meaning that operation from the inside or outside can be independently controlled. The battery powered control unit has five access modes, which can be set using buttons on the unit fascia, or by a wireless remote control key fob.

The Night Safe mode is particularly useful, it is claimed. In this case the door is deadlocked to provide extra security from the outside, yet the door can still be opened from the inside at any time, for escape in need.By day, access can be set for either direction or the unit can be programmed to ensure that if the door has been opened from the inside, it will never accidentally lock out anyone leaving the house.

For the highest level of security the Home Away Security mode can be selected, according to the makers. The door is then deadlocked and cannot be opened using the lever handle from any direction, but only operated by the key.

Ergonomically designed to comply with Part M guidelines, the Elva cylinder is positioned above the reversible lever handle for access. A remote control function further simplifies use, it is claimed.

Package

The product is supplied as a package including control unit with batteries, solenoid handle lock, keys and fobs and lever handles. The system is compatible with a range of cylinders including ASSA 5-Pin, ASSA Twin Combi and ASSA Cliq. Accessories and fixings, plus full programming and installation instructions, are also included.
