Engineering Centre: Case Study

by msecadm4921

Emirates Airline’s new engineering centre, being built at Dubai International Airport, is expected to be one of the largest civil aviation maintenance facilities in the world when operational in 2006.

Transguard Solutions, an approved MAXxess integrator, has the contract to provide an integrated security system. This includes CCTV, access and entrance control and a dedicated fibre optic network to transmit video, telemetry and data. Dr Abdulla Al Hashimi, Senior Vice President Emirates Group Security, said: "We are pleased to work with Transguard Solutions. They have proven capabilities in providing reliable and efficient means of protecting people, property and assets. Its solid track record of delivering quality turnkey projects will be a good fit with Emirates Group Security’s goal of combining business with quality principles of asset protection and building automation.” MAXxess Systems are providing their security management software. The product integrates each part of the security system and presents information from any of the deployed equipment on a single screen. For example the CCTV monitor module allows a user to connect, manage and view video images from equipment, regardless of its manufacturer. The images can be viewed simultaneously on a dedicated portion of a screen while operators are viewing other data at the same time.

Simon Precious, Director of Dubai-based Transguard Solutions, said: "This is the biggest building project undertaken by the Emirates Group thus far, and we are delighted to have been entrusted with the security system contract.” He added: "The effective management of critical security information is a complex process and the software platform is key to the success of this project. It is essential that control room operators are equipped with a solution that will enable them to react quickly to any event or incident. We have chosen to work with a security management software system provided by MAXxess Systems. The software has a proven track record and its open architecture provides the opportunity for unlimited future expansion of the security system.”
