You can email him at [email protected]: <br><br>I am a postgraduate student at the University of Portsmouth undertaking research for my dissertation as part of the MSc Security Management course. The research, supervised by Graham Brooks, Senior Lecturer in Counter Fraud and Counter Corruption, focuses on the subject of industrial espionage. This is an area which appears to be relatively under-researched given that it represents an increasing global danger to individual businesses and organisations at the micro level, and more widely to governments and the economic well-being of countries. <br><br><br>My research assesses the extent of the threat and the strategies currently employed in countering it. The aim is to identify realistic avenues for future action. As part of the study, I have composed a short on-line questionnaire designed to draw out what people think about industrial espionage, and how it is being handled in the business world and by governments. <br><br>I would like to invite those who have had some connection with industrial espionage issues to complete the questionnaire. They include, but this list is far from exclusive:<br><br>- Senior security management staff;<br>- Information Security Managers;<br>- Risk Analysis departments;<br>- Chief Executives and other Board-level staff;<br>- Security chiefs at the country’s banks, accountants and legal firms;<br>- Government officials connected both with dealing with the threat and formulating policy;<br>- Lawyers and Barristers.<br><br>I hope that my research will provide new insights into what is seen by some observers as a controversial issue, particularly because of the grey areas surrounding what is now known as "competitive intelligence", which may or may not border on industrial espionage.<br><br>The questionnaire can be found through this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PMZ6RQS.
