The Watergardens, a Surrey private luxury development of three apartment blocks set in 7.5 acres, dating from 1990, called in installer Gate-A-Mation after problems with vandals and skateboarders in the grounds. The installer designed and put in place an automatic gate system consisting of two sets of swing gates, both powered by FAAC 400 operators. Access control is provided by radio controls for residents and a Telguard system for visitors. Suitable for gates with a maximum width of seven metres per leaf, the FAAC 400 series models can be set to handle light, industrial or heavy traffic flows. The Watergardens? site services manager reports the automated gate system installed in 1997 has solved the security problems and has operated reliably. FAAC?s operators and full gate systems are available through a national network of nearly 600 approved installers.
