A fire alarm system that will protect the new multi-million pound development at St Mellion International Hotel, Golf and Country club is being installed by Plymouth company Securi-Guard.
The Estover-based firm is working with the project’s main contractors Midas and Crown Golf, the owners of the complex in Cornwall, to deliver a bespoke system that suits the site’s particular Fire Risk Assessment Requirements.
The main scope of the work has been a new fire alarm system fitted to the golf and health club at the site, which is now at the final phase. The work has been done in phases to minimise disruption to the centre’s day to day operations.
Once the hotel development is complete, the fire alarm system will be extended to provide coverage of the whole site. It will be integrated to enable staff to operate it from both the hotel site and the main reception at the course.
Securi-Guard has also been responsible for fitting a new intruder alarm system to the Pro Shop at St Mellion under the contract, totalling around £45,000.
Mark Bostick, Business Development Manager for Fire and Security Systems at Securi-Guard said: “We have a dedicated project team on site that has worked closely with the owners and the main contractors to ensure they have an alarm protection system, tailored to their requirements.
“We have also been happy to work around the health club’s operations as we as a company realise the importance of minimising disruption as much as possible.”
A new four star 80 bedroom hotel attached to the existing conference, golf and leisure facilities, is the focus of the £100m scheme at St Mellion, which also includes the development of more than 200 golf homes.
