Ibis Answer

by msecadm4921

Folding lobby doors have solved the problem of accessing an awkward entrance at the Ibis Leeds Centre Hotel.

Due to the central city location and restricted access resulting from the angle of the entrance, traditional automatic doors would have been too large and would have caused an obstruction. To solve this problem, Dor-O-Matic folding doors from Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies were installed at the entrance and inner lobby. This double door system not only creates a draft-proof lobby but also provides a shelter against bad weather and a contained area for trapping dirt and cleaning shoes. The lobby also reduces exterior noise pollution from the street, creates a cleaner and warmer reception area and enhances the luxurious feeling for the hotel reception.

Dor-O-Matic folding doors are the makers IR say designed for this type of application, providing access when space is limited. They are available as a single or simultaneous pair of folding doors, requiring less space, creating unobstructed opening and easing bi-directional traffic flow. Safety features include motion detectors, threshold safety beams and sensors, electric locking, panic breakout, monitored battery pack and manual operation functions. Other features include adjustable opening / closing speeds, adjustable time delay and reduced opening settings.

Duty Manager Paul Smith says:“The replacement automatic doors are working really well. Not only has access improved, compared with the manual doors we used to have, but the double set of doors mean that external noise has reduced considerably and we are enjoying a much cleaner and warmer reception area.”
