York-based Mitrefinch, a suppliers of time and attendance software solutions, has launched its new Image Recording Intelligence System. IRIS as the ability to record continuously and simultaneously from multiple cameras, the manufacturers report. The cameras can be positioned up to 1500m away from the main control terminal with images able to be viewed over the company intranet, internet or WAP phone. Past events can also be viewed without affecting the live recording. Users can archive the video anywhere on the network either as single frames or as a fully viewable clip independent of the system without affecting its normal operation. Users can tailor the system to their needs with the optional customised floor plans which allow users to move from camera to camera by a single click, the makers say. Images from this system have been accepted as evidence and used successfully in criminal court proceedings, Mitrefinch say, because the time and date stamp and unique system-generated hash code on each frame ensure that the images cannot be tampered with.

What they say

Andrew Simpson, Managing Director of Mitrefinch says: ?The development of IRIS makes a substantial addition to our security product range. The system prevents tailgating at access doors providing increased security throughout the entire building. Allocating users access to specific areas within the site ensures that restricted areas are protected. The cameras and hard drive can be updated ensuring that the system is ?futureproof?. Users and administrators will also be able to access a range of online help services.? Visit www.mitrefinch.co.uk/iris
