Infra-red Range

by msecadm4921

Vista has released a new range of Infra-red (IR) cameras to complement their VVRD4V9 vandal resistant domes.

They were previously available as monochrome, colour and day/night options. Because the cameras come with 30 integrated LED IRs, no additional lighting is required for clear night-time viewing, the CCTV firm reports. The two built-in photocells trigger the IRs, matching the camera’s moving cut-IR filter to ensure that the LEDs are on when required and that the camera delivers optimum pictures, it is claimed.

The integrated lighting also saves on installation time and complexity as there is one unit to install, rather than a number of items such as separate lighting, power sources, cabling etc, the makers add.

The manufacturers say that the life expectancy of the VVRD LEDs is over six years in normal outdoor applications.

What they say

"This new range of IR cameras is just part of our popular vandal resistant range which has proved to be incredibly rugged and reliable," says Andrew Pigram, Vista brand director. "We’ve spent a significant amount of time with the IR model ensuring that light produced by the LEDs gives good even light and doesn’t reflect back on the lens and interfere with the picture, giving users the best image quality possible in both day and night conditions."
