Bosch introduced the IP Bullet Camera 255 IR and the IP Dome 225 IR. These new day/night infrared network cameras are part of the IP 200 Series.
Built for outdoor use, the ready-to-use IP Bullet Camera 255 IR features an IP66 rated aluminium housing that resists water and dust ingress, making it suitable the makers claim for outdoor uses as well as indoor locations prone to these conditions.
The IP Dome 225 IR is described as a complete network video surveillance system – including built-in video recording and storage – in a compact dome. Plug in the camera and video can be recorded at once, without any extra equipment. A microSD/SDHC card slot eliminates the need for an external recorder. Storage can be extended by connecting a video recorder such as the Video Recorder 700 from Bosch or an iSCSI server. Progressive scan technology helps keep moving objects sharply in focus. The built-in active infrared illuminator, which activates automatically when the scene is dark, provides night vision to ensure it’s claimed image quality even in complete darkness. Tri-streaming capability provides two H.264 streams and one M-JPEG stream simultaneously.
H.264 compression
H.264 compression minimises storage demands, saving up to 30 percent compared to MPEG-4 without sacrificing image quality, according to the makers. Video Client Software allows customers to view images from multiple cameras on a PC monitor and easily archive video clips. Smart motion search can locate important events by automatically scanning for movement in the recorded video. PoE supplies power and enables viewing and control of the camera via a single cable.
Both cameras include built-in motion and tamper detection. The IP Dome 225 IR also offers an audio alarm and two-way audio capability. When activated, the camera automatically sends an alert (even by e-mail) and can trigger an alarm or change the recording quality.
