IP Management Tool

by msecadm4921

IP surveillance product manufacturer Axis Communications has announced the AXIS Camera Management application, a tool to make the installation and management of the firm’s network video products easier and more productive, it is claimed.

The product allows users to perform sequential or simultaneous firmware upgrades for multiple network video products and can be scaled to handle hundreds of Axis network cameras and video servers.

The product enables users to locate Axis video products on the network, set IP addresses, show whether devices are reachable and sequentially or simultaneously perform multiple firmware upgrades. The manufacturer will make components of this tool available to the Application Development Partners, enabling them to integrate their applications to offer similar functionality.

Dominic Bruning, managing director of Axis Communications (UK) Limited, said: "The introduction of this tool is in response to market demand and represents an ideal installation and management tool. Axis products are now being used in some very large installations. The Camera Management application will help larger companies to simplify the process of installation, upgrading and management of IP-surveillance systems."

The Camera Management tool uses the http or https protocol for firmware upgrades and setting IP addresses.  It uses standard network protocols and is fully compliant with most of the manufacturer’s video products in the 200 series including the AXIS 206W, AXIS 206M, AXIS 210, AXIS 211 and AXIS 211A. Camera Management is available for download:
