IQ, the mutual awarding organisation approved by Ofqual and the SIA, reports that it has boosted its initial offering to the Security Sector, with the IQ Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services (QCF), which is the replacement for the NVQ, available from August 1.

The new award adds to security awards that include the IQ Level 3 Award in Security Supervision and the IQ Level 4 Award in Risk Management. SIA licence linked qualifications for CCTV Operators, Security Guarding and Door Supervision are expected to be released on September 1.

Industry Qualifications (IQ) has also been active in the development of awards for trainers. It has already gained approval for the IQ Level 3 Award in the Delivery of Conflict Management (QCF), IQ Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (QCF) (the update of the existing A1 award) and from the 1st of August the new version of PTLLS, the IQ Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

Raymond Clarke, Chief Executive of IQ, says: “Further awards for the sector will be announced over the coming months, we are already in the process of extending our offering across the sector.”
