MD On ACS

by msecadm4921

Isn’t it amazing that after all the effort in getting SIA Approved Contractor Status, we still find that there are numerous other accreditation bodies, with lots of clients who insist on all suppliers being approved by their own “pet” auditors. So writes Ray Redmore, Managing Director Security 2000 Ltd.

Each one requires a fee of approx £300 per annum and a cash up front amount to initiate the joining process.

What an unnecessary cost to the industry and bureautic "dripping roast" for the accrediting bodies to have imposed upon us all.

Scores of companies all wanting a fee for exactly the same audit.

It appears that the only use the Approved Contractor Status by the SIA is internal kudos for the security industry.

Our attainment of SIA approved status has not gained us any extra work and has not replaced these numerous other auditing bodies employed by the potential clients in the market place.

Would it please be possible for the SIA as the government legislated auditing body, to get the message through to clients of the security industry that they do not need any further auditing of SIA Approved Security Contractors and save us this intolerable, unnecessary burden.
