Manufacturers Silent Witness report that their modular CCTV camera system has been well received within the security industry.
The flexibility of the system has not only aided customers but distributors, the Canadian firm says. With 19 housing variations, 20 camera boards and 9 lens options – adding up to only 48 SKUs – distributors can keep their inventory levels down while offering customers the choice of more than 3,400 camera combinations, at the point-of-purchase, Silent Witness say. What they say
Craig Scott, director of product management at Silent Witness, says: ?We have seen a continual increase in the popularity of this system since its initial release in July 2002. We are receiving great feedback and to reflect customers’ demands we have already expanded the product line by adding three new styles of housings to the MagnaView series and the true Day/Night camera board.? Paul Swan, Director of Marketing at Tri-ed, added: ?As a distributor, the modular concept has enabled us to stock less product on the shelf while increasing the product options offered to customers. With the three box system, it has made it easier for our staff and customers to learn about the products in less time.?
About the Modular CCTV System
In three steps, customers can build their preferred combination of housing, camera board and lens at the point-of-purchase. Both the MagnaView cameras and PrimaView cameras are offered in the modular format. Their housings can be installed and wired before the gimbal, camera board and lens are snapped in. All modular cameras are available with the full range of Silent Witness Quick Change Lenses from 2.9mm to 16.0mm and with a range of camera boards including the Day/Night option. The varifocal auto iris lens (2.6-5.6mm or 4.0-8.0mm) is available for all models except the PrimaView C12.
