Mind Your Own Business is the title of the North East Fraud Forum (NEFF) annual conference on Thursday, June 23. The The Great North Museum: Hancock, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 4PT is the venue.

Synopsis

The National Fraud Authority publishes an Annual Fraud Indicator (AFI) aimed at assessing the impact of fraud on the UK. The AFI estimates that in 2010 fraud cost the UK economy £38.3 billion. Fraud in the financial services industry is estimated at £3.8 billion, which made it the highest losing industry in the private sector which overall is estimated to have lost £12 billion. Within that figure is an estimated loss to ‘Small and Medium Enterprises’ of £780 million. What is not in dispute from these figures is the scale of the problem facing organisations and companies. Where are the key risks? This year the NEFF annual conference invites you to our’ virtual business’ when we will detail the ingenuity of fraudulent activity within companies, no matter the size.
