It was standing room only as James Dinsdale, MD of G4S Cash Solutions, welcomed banking customers and industry representatives to a second 2012 planning workshop in central London….
As the Official Security Services and Cash Transportation provider for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the security contractor says that it has been working with its customers, LOCOG, Transport for London (TfL) and regional police forces. It points out that Olympic events are taking place throughout the UK next summer.
The session which was led by Chris Rowe, G4S Olympic Project Director, included guest speakers from Loomis and TfL and covered issues such as:
•Impact of the 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games on London roads
•Dealing with over three million expected Olympic visitors in London alone
•Business continuity planning.
Attendees received toolkits designed to help start their internal planning processes ahead of 2012.
James Dinsdale said: “It’s fantastic to see such a positive turnout for these sessions and I’m delighted to be able to welcome our industry colleagues into this process. Starting an open and candid dialogue with our customers in a setting that allows them to hear and question speakers from such a diverse list as TfL, and the Metropolitan Police is essential if we are to support the business community in making the most of the commercial opportunities that the Games represent, as well as to meet the challenges they will pose.”
With the first of the retail workshops delivered last week, G4S plan to roll these 2012 planning sessions through to next summer. For more information visit –
