by msecadm4921

Nedap AVI, the Dutch manufacturer of vehicle identification, detection and management products, will display its parking access product, the uPASS Reach, and parking detection product, the Wiresless SENSIT Space Count System, at the 12th Australian Parking Convention from November 7 to 9, 2010 in Sydney.

Using UHF technology, the new uPASS Reach Reader guarantees according to the makers long range vehicle identification up to 4m (12ft). Based on the use of battery free, passive UHF transponders, the reader output allows the parking system to open the gate when authorized without the need for card readers or PIN pads. A built-in LED provides visual feedback for the user that the tag has been read.

With a consistent reader distance claimed of up to 4m (12 ft). the new uPASS system is the firm says a solution for commercial and residential parking installations such as car parks, gated communities, and staff parking. In addition, its integrated fine-tuned antenna and elegant casing makes it suitable it’s claimed for outdoors and indoors.

Nedap’s wireless space count system consists of a wireless network of surface mounted sensors (Nodes) designed to recognize vehicle presence within an individual parking space. The SENSIT nodes communicate wirelessly, in a daisy chain fashion and can return to the parking management system, a real time count of a parking facility.

With the advent of parking guidance systems both on and off street in large cities worldwide, the SENSIT is a solution to prevent unnecessary and frustrating searching for a parking space on behalf of the driver. In addition, enforcement of overstay in time-limited parking facilities can be carried out efficiently. With the SENSIT wireless sensor network in place, enforcement attendants do not need to check every car in a particular area. They are actively alerted when there are cars in overstay and are guided to them, thus optimising parking regulation.
