The Association of Business Crime Partnerships (ABCP) held a strategy workshop day at ATCM offices in London on July 15.
It was attended by representatives of BCRPs (business crime reduction partnerships), retailers, town centre managers, police and directors of ABCP.Briefly, the association arose from Action Against Business Crime and the Association of Town Centre Management (ATCM).
The purpose of the day was say organisers to identify policy issues needing addressing to achieve objectives of becoming the national standard setting and partnership organisation for BCRPs. The four major areas identified were:<br><br>• membership benefits – what do the members want and get from membership<br><br>• Standards – what does ABCP need to achieve to be recognised as the national standards awarding body for BCRPs<br><br>• Finance – what does ABCP need to do to become financially viable<br><br>• Communication and administration – how does ABCP communicate to its internal and external stakeholders<br><br>A mission statement, setting out these broad objectives is now being prepared and will be published in the association e-newsletter shortly.<br><br>A detailed business plan and action plan is being prepared for approval by the ABCP board before the end of August and these will also be published on the website.
