Available from distributor ADI-GARDINER, GJD has launched the D-TECT-50, a new PIR detector.
Programmable over any distance between 25 and 50 m, its field of view can be exactly matched to that of the camera, the product firm reports.
External detectors have been traditionally designed to work at a fixed range, but the D-TECT-50 can be set to operate over any distance in its range, and still at accuracy, it is claimed – detecting movement up to a 45 m perimeter, for example, but not normal passers-by immediately outside.
Once installed at say a height of 3 m, the detector can also be adjusted from the ground using a hand-held key fob, which will automatically change the range and pulse count sensitivity to the required level. The perimeter detector is BS8418 compliant and comes with adjustable range from 25m to 50m; two Fresnel lenses giving up to 50m x 5m or 50m x 10m beam coverage; variable mounting height up to 6m, optimum 3m; an adjustable pan (180 degree) and tilt (90 degree) module; optional remote IR programmer, a benefit for after-installation adjustments; and, it is claimed, resistance to false alarms. It is available from any ADI-GARDINER branch.
