For all multiple-site security projects – from retail chains to industrial locations – the latest upgrades to the Tracer Lite DVR from Europlex Technologies now deliver at a midi-market price, it is claimed.
Features include the ability to run up to three types of monitor from a single unit and to display of true, live pictures (not digitised live) from up to 100 cameras at once. The new model can also process and display live images from up to 50 remote locations – such as retail outlets – at the same time. A new menu is never more than one click away wherever the engineer is on the system, the makers say. To save time and money, the company adds, the product can now be remotely accessed for diagnostics and servicing. A free two year product replacement policy is offered, for peace of mind for the installer, the firm says.
In the case of the upgraded Tracer Lite, the product is extremely robust, running on the embedded Linux operating system which is used in the banking sector and has proven particularly reliable.
Now the needs of users in wider markets have been addressed with the same attention to detail. The ability to display live images on different screen types will be particularly useful at sites such as retail outlets, leisure facilities and multi-tenanted blocks, where high aesthetics are important, but where security must not be compromised, according to the firm. In these cases, flat screen monitors can be set up at the entrance to a building, to be visible to visitors, while security staff can view the same images on higher resolution CRT monitors.
What they say
Product manager Chris Parry says: “We have also included a built-in CD writer as standard, and made it possible to play back your CD on the unit itself. This is a simple improvement but will be very useful in any situation where recordings are copied for the police. Users will find it much easier to play-back and check the recorded disk on the Tracer Lite itself, rather than having to take the disk away and find a PC to use for the same job.”
The firm adds that the Tracer Lite has the flexibility to be used as a stand-alone DVR or it can be integrated and managed as part of a suite of up to 100 DVRS using the Tracer Enterprise system.
