Riots: G4S Advice

by msecadm4921

Here’s what security contractor G4S has said about the riots in the UK.

“The current disturbances in London and other cities have resulted in an understandable increase in requests for increased security from our business customers and some disruption to our cash transportation services.

“We have been responding to requests for additional security personnel, as well as for security advice. We have also been contacting our customers to provide advice and, where needed, are helping them to develop contingency plans to deal with any incidents.

“In the affected areas, we are doing everything we can to ensure delivery of service to our customers – in some cases, where police have closed roads for public safety – some of our vehicles are unable to move as freely as possible but we are working hard to ensure minimal disruption to customer service.

“Our advice to businesses and retailers is to focus on the safety of your staff. Ensure you have emergency plans in place should you need to close or evacuate, and that all your staff are familiar with them. You should update emergency contact numbers, familiarise yourself if you have to escalate plans, and where possible make contact with your Local Authority to keep up to date to what is happening in your area. G4S is supplying information, guidance and support to staff and customers.

“We are determined to help our customers overcome this violence and stand ready to help wherever we can.”
