Sheriffs Award

Have you witnessed any act of bravery or danger encountered by an individual in assisting others? Are you aware of an individual who has made a major contribution to the protection of people and their liberty?

Have you encountered an innovative project that protects people and/ or property? …if the answer is yes, then the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals want you to share that information with us. Immediate Past Master of the Company, Peter French writes:

This is your opportunity to nominate people or organisations who are worthy of receiving this unique award. The Sheriffs’ Award is designed to recognise and honour a person, company or organisation that has shown courage and initiative in protecting People, Property or Liberty.

All nominations will be judged by a committee consisting of and including the City of London and Metropolitan Police Commissioners and the Chief Constable of the British Transport Police, The Master of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, representatives from the Fire Brigade, the Ambulance Service and other relevant parties.

The sponsors are The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, a charitable company, with the endorsement of the Sheriffs of the City of London, who will be presenting this award at their annual dinner in October.

In addition to receiving this unique award and a cheque for £2,000 the recipient’s name will be inscribed on a special scroll which will be a Book of Honour on permanent display within the Central Criminal Court, ‘The Old Bailey’.

This award is open to nominations from the General Public, the Business Community, Emergency Services and the Armed Forces. To ensure your nominee receives the recognition they deserve, nominate them by August 1.
