Solar Barrier

by msecadm4921

APT Security Systems, vehicle access product manufacturer, has launched the Eco Barrier. It’s powered by renewable sources.

The Eco Barrier is a solar and wind powered rising arm barrier that harnesses natural energy to generate power. It addresses a real need from within the market to offer an environmentally friendly option, Managing Director Chris Rowlands says: “There is increasing pressure on companies to make choices which help protect the environment, and with the UK Government’s climate change programme concentrating on improvements in energy management, we can expect to see policy and legislation to follow. The Eco Barrier can be tailored to meet even the most demanding sites and is designed with reliability in mind to ensure it operates even on the shortest, cloudiest days of the year.”

The benefits of being solar and wind powered go beyond the environment, the makers add. The barrier can also help to reduce costs by avoiding the expense of installing NICEIC certified mains cabling and eliminating ongoing energy costs, additionally it causes minimal disruption at the time of installation because little groundwork is required.

“With businesses becoming increasingly concerned with not only finding ways to reduce their impact on the environment, but also with ways to improve financial security, we have found a barrier to do both whilst not losing sight of its primary purpose,” adds Chris.

The new Eco Barrier is the firm adds suited to most applications, including schools, industrial premises, agricultural sites, office car parks and private properties. It is available with arm lengths of up to eight metres and comes with built in infra-red safety sensor.
