SOS Response

by msecadm4921

A new joint venture is to offer response by operators to lone workers who use a time-in-attendance notification package.

Orbis Monitoring is to supply the 24/7 emergency response to users of employee-monitoring specialist Panztel’s eziTracker and LoneWorkerCompanion telephone-based services.

In an emergency, the deal enables users to contact colleagues besides the Orbis response centre via a pre-programmed mobile phone or specialist communications device. Once an alert is raised, operators will access and listen to the lone worker’s shift plan, verify their location using LBS, proceed to take the appropriate action and summon the emergency services if necessary.

Audio recordings

The package includes audio recordings of incidents for use as evidence in legal proceedings and documentation of incidents to comply with health and safety requirements.

What they say

Panztel UK sales director Dave Currie said: "The addition of Orbis’ response service will give our users significant benefits 24/7 because trained operators will always be there to assist them throughout the year. Orbis relationship with the 999 service allows faster access and response to the emergency services. All operators are vastly experienced in handling all types of incidents." And Orbis director David Armstrong said: "The partnership provides the best of Panztel’s range of automated services with Orbis‚ proven track record in handling and resolving difficult incidents using extremely well trained, intelligent and caring operators." To encourage better-be-safe-than-sorry usage, no charges are made for SOS activations, just a flat monthly rate, plus costs for set up and network usage, the firms say.
