Suppliers Shop

by msecadm4921

Lochrin Bain, the Scottish palisade manufacturer, has announced plans to open a specialist security shop at its premises which will exhibit a range of products from manufacturer members of the Association of Police and Public Security Suppliers (APPSS).

The facility will also offer demonstrations of the products on offer, the firm adds.

The shop is the idea of Ian Kerr, managing director of Cumbernauld-based Lochrin Bain. He said: “The idea is to create a place where crime reduction officers, counter terrorism security advisers (CTSAs) and those organisations that they advise, can come to view a range of approved security products and see for themselves the benefits such products can offer prior to placing an order. Our central location in Cumbernauld means that we are readily accessible for a wide range of police forces throughout the UK.”

Lochrin Bain adds that it has recently won accreditations for its security fencing products. The first, from the government, supersedes the requirement of quality standards as set down by the British Standards, BS 1722-12 and certifies that its fencing meets the government requirements as a time delay deterrent. The second, Secure by Design, was awarded by the police force. Lochrin Bain is the only palisade manufacturer to be awarded Secure by Design accreditation.
