Tagging Recognition

by msecadm4921

Norprint Labelling Systems Ltd has been presented with its Queen’s Award for Innovation by the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Mrs Bridget Cracroft-Eley.

The Lord – Lieutenant presented the Award of a lead crystal bowl and scroll signed by Queen Elizabeth II to Norprint managing director, Alex Evans at a presentation at the firm’s Boston headquarters. Norprint received the award in recognition of its security tagging system, the Nortag, which protects retail goods from theft.

The Nortag was recognised in the Queen’s Award Innovation category, for its ability to offer retailers covert security, brand enhancement and also potentially offer logistics tracking.

As well as the Lord Lieutenant, the ceremony was attended by The High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, the Mayor and Mayoress of Boston and other Lincolnshire dignitaries, representatives from the firm’s clients, its suppliers and employees.

Following the official presentation, the Lord Lieutenant praised the Nortag, claiming that it would help to save retailers money by reducing theft. She went onto say: “From my visit here today, and looking at past performance, I don’t think that it will be too long before we see another Queen’s Award here at Norprint.”

Guests at the event were treated to champagne and canapés, and witnessed a presentation on Norprint’s range of security products, delivered by Nortag creator and Norprint technical director, Gerrard Hancock. Following this was a guided tour of the factory.

Alex Evans, Norprint managing director added: “It has been an honour for us to have received a visit from one of her Majesty’s representatives. This Royal visit is the perfect reward for my team, as it not only boosts the company’s profile, but also recognises the hard work and dedication that they have put into the development of the Nortag.”
