Terror Posters

by msecadm4921

Posters have been sent out by police to businesses and organisations across Cambridgeshire to help raise awareness about terrorism and preventing terrorist activity.

The posters, which have been produced by the Metropolitan Police and the Association of Chief Police Officers, form part of a national awareness raising campaign designed to encourage people to report suspicious or unusual behaviour that could be related to terrorism.
Local businesses will be encouraged to display the posters and to keep the important messages they carry in mind.
Assistant Chief Constable Mark Hopkins, said: "We fully support this important national campaign which reminds people about the critical part they can play in helping prevent terrorism.
"Posters will be going up in shopping centres, train and bus stations and at other locations across Cambridgeshire to remind people to report any suspicious activity which could be related to terrorism by calling the free and confidential 0800 789 321 number.
"We must always remain vigilant against the threat of terrorism. The public are our ‘eyes and ears’ when it comes to reporting activity which may raise suspicion or concern.
"What do we mean by suspicious activity? Well, it could be anything out of the ordinary in your community: a lock up garage being used by someone who tries to avoid contact; new neighbours moving to an address but keeping a very low profile; or unusual packaging or materials being left out in the rubbish. It’s often the odd things that happen day-to-day that make people think that something is just a little out of the ordinary that can help us tackle the threat.
"Tackling terrorism in all its forms is a responsibility for all and we must continue to work hard together to reduce the terrorist threat."
