Vehicle Crime

by msecadm4921

Scania (Great Britain) reports it has joined forces with Protekdor, in the fight against driver-related commercial vehicle crime.

Protekdor is the company behind Lokgard and Kabgard, the devices designed to prevent lorry drivers being attacked whilst in their cabs and Scania (Great Britain) Limited is now stocking the products in its dealerships throughout the country. Scania (Great Britain) is a supplier of commercial vehicles. Kabgard is a free-fitting product that sits in the window of a tractor unit and prevents thieves from entering the cab, even if the driver is gassed and the manufacturers door lock then broken. Lokgard is a device that covers the door furniture, stopping perpetrators from attacking the locks of a vehicle and gaining access.

Dave Hickman, aftersales marketing manager at Scania (Great Britain) Limited, says: "With the rate of vehicle crime increasing throughout the UK and Europe, it is becoming imperative to take extra steps to protect the driver. Lokgard and Kabgard are ideal – they give added peace of mind to the driver and are extremely easy to use. Scania (Great Britain) Limited is pleased to be associated with Protekdor’s products." Debbie Jones, director of Protekdor, comments: "To have Scania (Great Britain) Limited endorse our product in this way, shows that the problem of attacks on drivers is becoming more widely recognised throughout the industry. Hopefully Scania (Great Britain) Limited’s ongoing support for the welfare of the driver will act as a catalyst for the industry, with security devices such as ours being available from all major commercial vehicle manufacturers in the not too distant future."
