Video Trial

by msecadm4921

Pepperdog Video Analytics reports its RAPiD software is in use by train operator Southern for a pilot video analysis application following a three-month trial.

Southern has recently upgraded its CCTV and is now seeking to identify deliberate and potentially fatal track incursions besides anti-social or disruptive behaviour at stations. Pepperdog’s RAPiD product was selected for detecting and alerting operations staff to high-impact events in an environment where the constant flow of trains made false positive alerts a major issue.

David Hynes, Head of Security for Southern, said: "We are committed to investing in technology where it can be a real benefit to our customers and staff. We are confident that Pepperdog will help to make our security systems more effective and it is good to see that small British companies continue to innovate and compete effectively against the best the world can offer. Hopefully RAPiD will help Southern to continue to deliver services which have seen customer satisfaction rising to over 80 per cent."
