Virtual Invite

by msecadm4921

Security consultant Simon Lambert invites you into the virtual world of Second Life.

As Simon, a member of the Association of Security Consultants, puts it: How would you like to drop in any time and walk around your new control room, even if today it’s only your ideas scribbled on a napkin?

“The internet and computer graphics available to us all now put amazing free tools within easy reach,” says Simon. “The example control room that I built in a so-called ‘virtual world’ allows clients, users, contractors, consultants, etc, to visit via the internet for walk-throughs and have live discussions trying design changes there and then. When people can conduct the design phase at their own desks the costs of travel and time are saved.”

To introduce readers to the virtual world Simon will be holding an ‘open house’ with free consultancy on all matters CCTV. On Tuesday, August 11, office-hours and out-of-hours sessions will be put on. See the Lambert Associates website for details –
